While getting Christmas lights out of my parents’ attic, I discovered that they store decorations in the original G. I. Joe box that they gave me as a present in 1988. I legitimately got misty for a second. Win.

My first Mac. Also, my first computer, period. The ill-fated Macintosh TV. In 1993, at the age of 10, I was configuring its TV tuner and hooking up my VCR so I could watch TV and video tapes on it.
They only made 10,000 of these, for good reason. Most people hated it, but I loved it. I thought it was a decade ahead of its time, at least in ambition (not execution).

I know the Rockabilly scene is pretty well-established in Tokyo, but I guess the phenomenon has spread to Kyoto. Nice to see some girls cutting a rug; I had thought that it was a strictly “dudes only” kinda thing.
